DILG-CAR conducts BuB projects M&E orientation

The Department of the Interior and Local Government-Cordillera Administrative Region (DILG-CAR) conducted an Orientation on Bottom-up Budgeting (BuB) Monitoring and Evaluation and Results- Based Monitoring and Evaluation (RBME) on April 15-19, 2013 participated by the BuB focal persons, municipal planning and development coordinators, municipal engineers, MLGOOs and CSO representatives of the 37 recipient municipalities of CAR.


The 37 focus LGUs as recipients of BuB projects for FY 2013 with budget cap of PhP 8M per LGU is designed to respond to the needs and aspirations of the poorest of the poor. The PhP 8M per municipality is translated into realistic and achievable projects that would uplift the lives of the people and eventually empower them and regain their self-dignity. Breakdown of the 37 focus LGUs are as follows: Abra-17, Apayao-3, Benguet-2, Ifugao-5, Kalinga-6 and Mt. Province-4.


The orientation aims to increase the level of competence of participants on project monitoring and evaluation of inputs and outputs, to institutionalize to the participants to always measure and evaluate results and to enable the participants to translate their lessons learned in the performance of their job through the preparation and submission of meaningful accomplishment reports. The activity was conducted in two (2) schools, April 15-17 and April 17-19, respectively.

Topics discussed during the orientation include the salient features of Executive Order No. 93 s. 1993 or the Regional Project Monitoring and Evaluation (RPMES), RBME Policy and Development Context under Administrative Order No. 25 (AO 25), Cascading Effect: Vertical and Horizontal Integration of the Results Matrices and Methodology of the Logical Framework among other things. ###
