Kabugao inaugurates PCF Project

A 20 linear meter road improvement along Jose Agcon St., Poblacion, Kabugao, Apayao funded under the Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) of the Department of the interior and Local Government (DILG) was inaugurated on September 23, 2012  by the Provincial Governor, Hon. Elias C. Bulut, Jr. witnessed by local officials, heads of National Line Agencies and the constituents of the municipality.




The road improvement project worth Php1Million included repair of drainage canals along the Agcon St. and provision of curbs, gutters pedestrian lanes and shoulders. The project, started in July 30, 2012 and completed on September 10, 2012, is geared towards providing better and more comfortable transportation lessening the burdens of moving products and people especially during the rainy season and reducing the risk of school children to vehicular accidents.


The Performance Challenge Fund(PCF) is an incentive programto eligible LGUs by adhering to the Full Disclosure Policy and acquiring the Seal of Good Housekeeping. PCF aims to help stimulate local governments to put premium on transparency and accountability and enable them to avail of financial support to jumpstart and sustain local socio-economic development initiatives supportive of national government goals and priorities. The Kabugao road improvement is classified under the Local Economic Development Project. Proper implementation of which was strictly and closely monitored by the DILG – Apayao Provincial Office.
