Tublay first to complete PCF project

The improvement of the Tublay School of Home Industries (TSHI) Extension ground in Benguet is the first project funded under the 2013 Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) to be completed last April 12, 2014.


The development of the TSHI Extension as a sports center is one of the priority projects of the Municipality of Tublay in Benguet.  As part of the Sports Center, an open gymnasium is being constructed on the southern part of the TSHI grounds funded by the Municipality; while the improvement of the TSHI Extension ground is funded by the PhP 1 M incentive PCF.


The project consists of a combination of beam and column design of retaining wall and grouted riprap protection wall with a length of 35 linear meters and an open canal/ flume with a length of 40 linear meters. The protection wall serves as a support for the gym, which upon its completion, is expected to benefit 3,000 constituents of the municipality.


A final inspection was conducted last May 6, 2014 by Engr. Freddie Laron of the Municipal Engineer’s Office, MLGOO Rene Vincent Ballug together with the representatives of the Municipal Council and Municipal Accounting Office. The municipal project monitoring team was also joined by LGOO V Mary Ann Griba and Accountant III Jennifer Chaokas as representatives from the DILG-CAR Regional PCF Monitoring Team.


Tublay, also the first LGU to complete their documentary requirements to avail of the 2013 PCF, was awarded their PCF check last January 27, 2014.# Mary Ann J. Griba, LGCDD
