DILG-CAR Confers Three Most Outstanding Barangay Peace and Order Committees in the Region

DILG-Cordillera Administrative Region recognizes three most outstanding Barangay Peace and Order Committees (BPOCs) for CY 2013. The Most Outstanding BPOCs were conferred to Barangay Imelda Village, Baguio City for the Highly Urbanized Cities and Component Cities Category; Barangay San Carlos, Sta. Marcela, Apayao for the 4th to 6th Class Municipalities Category; and Barangay Caluttit, Bontoc, Mt. Province for the 1st to 3rd Class Municipalities Category. All of the regional winners were given a Plaque of Commendation and cash incentive worth Seventeen Thousand Pesos.

Efforts of this year’s other regional nominees were also recognized and were given a Certificate of Recognition. They are: Barangay Caponga, Tublay, Benguet; and Barangay Dalupirip, Itogon, Benguet. The awarding that was held Sunday, September 29, 2013 at the University of Baguio Gymnasium was part of the celebration of the National Crime Prevention Week. The Search for Most Outstanding BPOCs is an initiative of DILG-CAR that aims to encourage every barangay in the region to have their BPOCs organized, functional, and to make their formulated plans at work. -Maria Consolacion S.
